Success requires depth before it can bear any fruit.
What do I mean by that? Picture a tree. What do you see? A trunk… branches and leaves, maybe fruit. But before it became any of that, the tree had to gain depth. It had to form roots. It had to grow quietly in the dark before any of that public growth happened in the daylight.
Of course we all want to bear fruit. We want the best for ourselves and our families. We want to succeed. Any organism that wants to achieve that, however, requires a lot of internal prep work that no one sees.
If you’ve ever played sports, you know that the investment you make “underground” directly impacts how much success you have during game time.
How much time have you spent on your emotional and relational root system? How happy are you with your own fruit? If you’d like to see better results, I’d invite you to start with your root system. It is often the first thing that gets neglected, yet hinders the whole organism if it doesn’t get what it needs.
